A common man’s opinion on the media right now
There are thousands of Indians dying everyday a couple of my relatives have tested positive but luckily nobody whose life I value. It’s very important for your mental health to be honest about your priorities why the hell should I have sleepless nights worrying about not worrying about people’s misery enough? Times of human crisis is when we are least humans and we immediately become very opiated, critical and intolerant. Not a single “woke” and progressive media outlet has contributed to my personal and societal safety instead it has made me more anxious and hate my country even more. I am still struggling to get my eligible family members vaccinated.
It is true that when an organization is flawed a leader is to be blamed so yes “Modi madarchod hai” There! I have dropped down to our dissenters level of intellectualism, commoners like say this out of frustration but people like you chant it like mantra. But can you please meet me in the half way here since (we are the citizens of the same country here) and please talk about the gross mismanagement played by the state governments. The government is 100% better than you because at least it did not plan to be systematically careless unlike you who is systematically organized to exploit death of the people to fulfill your political agenda and by doing so you are forcing us to side with the Prime Minister yet again.
None of you people are loyal to your country for fuck sake, when reporting about the government you get emotional as fuck to the point where you unrealistically demonize all brahmins as patriarchal misogynists(You hinduphobic rats) but why can you not show the same emotion when it is a proven fact that the western countries are playing vaccine politics? The German chancellor’s remarks, The US president’s remarks the amount of fucks you gave is the same amount of fucks an average Indian would give when Russia invaded Ukraine which clearly shows that you have no allegiance to the identity of India. It’s this lack of credibility that commoners like us despise.
Journalism is a profession which should be factual and aimed for betterment of the country as a whole. You should not cherry pick freedom of speech and brush aside national integrity being less important than human rights because it is in Indian culture to put ideas above life. I despise north Indian Hindutva leaders more than I despise you but they are definitely more credible than you, they were anti minorities from the start but you folks change your stance one post at the time.
I am writing this because in a time when I am supposed to be thinking about how I can help my friends who are suffering now and will in future cause economy is fuck all you are making me feel that this pandemic is my fault for being a Hindu and it is this irrational hate that will unfortunately repel me away from all the politicians that you side with. In a weird way I feel pity for you for you are the person who hates yourself for being brown. Honestly go to hell, citizens are coming out and sharing life saving information and phone numbers of while you sit there and rant about things in front of your camera we are burdened with unemployment while you are sitting there and sharing funeral pyre pictures and fucking with our already fragile mental heath.
